🧈 Paneer Butter Masala – Creamy, Rich & Irresistible

There’s something truly comforting about a bowl of creamy Paneer Butter Masala served with warm naan or steamed rice. This classic North Indian dish is loved for its rich tomato-based gravy, soft cubes of paneer, and perfectly balanced spices. Whether it’s a family dinner or a special occasion, this recipe never fails to impress.

Today, I’m sharing a simple and easy version that you can make at home without any complicated steps.


🛒 Ingredients

  • 250 grams paneer (cut into cubes)

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 tablespoon oil

  • 2 medium onions (finely chopped)

  • 3 tomatoes (pureed)

  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste

  • 10–12 cashews (soaked and blended into paste)

  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder

  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder

  • 1 teaspoon garam masala

  • ½ teaspoon sugar (optional)

  • 3–4 tablespoons fresh cream

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish


👩‍🍳 Method

  1. Heat butter and oil in a pan on medium flame.

  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.

  4. Pour in the tomato puree and cook until the oil starts separating from the gravy.

  5. Add turmeric, red chili powder, salt, and garam masala. Mix well.

  6. Stir in the cashew paste and cook for 2–3 minutes for a creamy texture.

  7. Add paneer cubes and gently mix so they don’t break.

  8. Pour a little water if needed and let it simmer for 5 minutes.

  9. Add fresh cream and a small pinch of sugar for balance.

  10. Garnish with coriander leaves and a little extra cream on top.


🍽️ Serving Suggestion

Serve hot with butter naan, roti, jeera rice, or even plain steamed rice. The creamy texture and rich flavor make it perfect for both everyday meals and festive occasions.
